Hi, Marinette! What do you need help with? Is everything okay?

Everything is fine. I promise!

But I'd like to throw a not-a- birthday party for Adrien and I was wondering if you'd like to help me plan it. :)

A not-a-birthday party?? Is that different from a birthday party?

Well I can't throw him a birthday party, so it's a... not-birthday party! <3

He hasn't remembered his birthday yet. So...

I mainly want to do something nice for him because he's been such a good shinki, and he didn't really get to do a lot of things before.

[ Birthdays are complicated, it's true. She loves this idea, though! ]

I can help with that! He should have a fun party! What were you thinking of doing?

Nothing super fancy! I just want to invite some people over and have a bunch of food and games and things.

I should make a list of everyone he knows and gets along with, and things he likes!

[She'd planned parties before, but never one for Adrien. And as far as she knew, he'd never really been allowed to have parties and things before so she wanted it to be amazing.]

Yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun! And there should be fun decorations and maybe some games? And lots of yummy food!

And maybe not a LOT of people, but enough so that games would be interesting~

Would Ken and Chikusa want to come? And... I don't remember the name of your other shinki? :D

I can ask them! Chikusa doesn't like parties very much, but he might come, especially if Ken and I go. Ken loves food, so he's not hard to convince to go anywhere. And SUou is my other shinki! He'll come too, if he's invited, I bet. Do you know any of Adrian's other friends?

I'd love it if you could all come! And I'm still trying to come up with a guest list, because I don't want to invite just the four of you, but I also don't want to invite so many people that it gets overwhelming! You know? I do know of at least a handful of other people that he'd probably appreciate seeing around.

Hmm. Maybe like ten or twelve would be a good number? That shouldn't be too many, right?

I think that's a good number! A lot of games are good for that many people, aren't they?

Yeah, I think so! Or at least there's still enough if not everyone wants to play all the games and stuff, too.

[ She knows at least one of her shinki is in the firm class of 'less effort is better'. ]

[Things seemed to be coming together nicely, or at least the number of people they wanted to invite.]

So we have an idea of how many people to invite. What kind of food do we want? I'm not sure if it would be better to have a big fancy meal, or more of a buffet style set up.

Hmmm. Maybe the buffet would be easier then? Maybe people would be more comfortable if it was something like that instead of fancy?

I think I'm partial to the buffet style anyway. It just seems like it would be easier to manage all around.

Yeah! And then everyone can find something they like!

Okay! So we've got buffet style food, not a LOT of people and some party games that small groups could play.

What am I forgetting?

Hmmm.... Decorations? Presents?

I'm not sure what to do about presents, unless we just tell people they're welcome to bring them if they have them?

And what are your thoughts on decorations? Nothing too fancy or over-the-top. But I want to make it look nice! Maybe some paper lanterns and tea lights?

Hmmm. That sounds like it would be pretty! You could do a theme, if you wanted? Like... his favorite color? Or something like cats?

I have some ideas of what I'd like to give him.

Oh! I like that idea! He does love cats... so that could be fun! And I'm pretty sure his favorite color is green?

[Or maybe she was just assuming, because Chat Noir. Maybe she'd have to figure out a way to ask him without seeming suspicious.]

I can ask, if you're not sure? I bet he wouldn't suspect anything if I asked him what his favorite color is?
